At 25mm it delivers the classic profile and the maximum feedback that comes with it — you feel exactly where on the face you struck the putt, which is what lets you judge pace properly.

Feel is the whole argument for a standard grip. A thicker grip quietens the hands, which helps golfers whose wrists break down under pressure — but it also mutes the feedback that tells you whether a putt came out of the middle.
